Our story
Two people, one bench, no warehouse.
We buy natural stone in small lots, cut and set it ourselves, and photograph every piece before it leaves. That is the whole business model — and it is the reason the stone you receive looks like the stone you chose.
It started with one stone that was wrong.
The first piece we ever commissioned online arrived as a dyed agate advertised as amethyst. It was pretty. It was also not what was promised. We spent the next two years learning how stones are graded, how they are faked, and why almost nobody in this category photographs the actual item you are buying.
So we built the opposite. Every custom brief gets photos of the real stones, taken on the bench, before a single setting is opened. If the stone we have is not good enough for the piece you asked for, we say so and offer an alternative.
The name
星烬阁
Xingjinge — say it SHING-jeen-guh.
星 is star. 烬 is ember. 阁 is the chamber where a craft is practised. It is the name of our workshop in Haifeng County, Guangdong — not a name invented for a website.
What we will not do
The honest part.
We will not claim crystals heal you
Crystal healing is not supported by evidence, and we are not going to pretend otherwise to make a sale. We tell you what a stone is, where it comes from, and what it has traditionally been associated with. The meaning you give it is yours.
We will not sell dyed stone as natural
If a stone is treated, stabilised or dyed, the listing says so in the first line. Heat treatment of citrine and amethyst is industry standard and we label it. Anything we cannot verify, we do not sell.
We will not take a date we cannot hit
If you need a piece for a wedding in nine days, we will tell you whether that is possible before you pay — not after. A missed date is worse than a lost order.
We will not copy another maker's design
Send us a reference and we will tell you honestly whether it is a design we can interpret or a direct copy of someone's work. We do the former. We will not do the latter.
Sourcing
Small lots from established lapidary suppliers in Brazil, India, Madagascar and the US. We visit where we can and ask where we cannot.
Materials
14k gold-filled, sterling silver, 18k vermeil and raw brass — chosen so a piece survives daily wear without a boutique price tag.
Packing
Linen box, wax seal, recycled paper. No plastic. Every order is tracked and insured.
